Does anyone else feel like January just flew by? I mean, I’m not complaining because I detest the cold, never-ending winters here in New York, but man, can it really be February tomorrow?
I have a lot of goals for February. Probably too many considering we’re going to be out of town visiting family for half of the month! I’m going to share my February goals here to keep myself accountable, and hopefully provide a little inspiration for some goals of your own. For additional ideas, read my post about setting SMART goals.
My body goal for February is to continue losing at least 2 pounds a week so I can hopefully be in great shape for my 30th birthday and our upcoming Disney trip in April. I plan to do this by continuing to track my calories using My Fitness Pal, and exercising at least 5 days a week. I’m currently running 2 miles and/or doing a workout video 5-6 days a week. By the end of February I would like my runs to be up to 3 miles.
My mind goal for this month is to meditate at least 3 times a week. I haven’t been very good at squeezing meditation into my busy days, but I feel so much calmer and more content when I do. Although I would love to meditate daily, I’m trying to stay realistic here so 3 times a week it is! I plan to use the Headspace app because I enjoy the 10 minute guided meditations.
This month I plan to spend more time praying and being grateful for the beautiful things in my life. I want to notice more of the beauty around me and go for more walks (despite the cold weather). My goal is to slow down and appreciate more of the moments in my day.
I’ll be honest, blogging is not coming as naturally for me as I was hoping it would! I had a blog once several years ago and things seemed to grow a little easier for me then, despite the fact that I know more and have more to offer now (and I’m much more passionate about this topic than the topic of my first blog).
I’m at the point in my photography business (and have been for a long time) where I don’t have to actually put any effort into getting new clients. They just find me. It’s easy for me now, and I’m confident in my talent.
Blogging, in contrast, makes me feel completely vulnerable! It’s really hard for me to put myself out here and try something new. Especially something so personal. I’m not confident in it like I am with my photography business. For all I know I’m a horrible blogger and I have nothing of interest to say, lol. Seriously though, it can be discouraging. However, I knew it would be discouraging at times going into it and I promised myself I would push through and keep going! So with that said, here are my February goals for this blog…
- Finish my free 14 Day Body, Mind, and Soul Challenge
- Start an online weight loss competition (complete with fun prizes) here on the blog
- Be more open and personal in my blog and social media posts
- Post at least 3 times a week
- Get to 200 Instagram followers and 150 Pinterest followers
- Not compare myself to all of the amazing, super talented bloggers out there!
