Isn’t it amazing how many things we use our phones for these days? Our phones have replaced our calendars, address books, cameras, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I have also found some really great ways to use my phone to help me achieve my fitness and health and wellness goals. Here are my 5 favorite apps for health and wellness.
Strides is such a fun app. You use it to set goals for yourself for establishing new habits (or breaking bad ones). I currently have a few goals going for myself on my Strides app, including exercising at least 5 days a week, following my 6 week challenge meal plans each day, and meditating at least 3 days a week. Every time I do one of those things, I go into my Strides app and check it off for the day. It feels so satisfying to mark each task completed, and it motivates me to keep going until I have essentially established my desired habit.
Headspace is another app that I absolutely love. It has daily 10 minute guided meditations for you to do anytime, anywhere. I try to meditate as many days out of the week as I can. It really helps me to be calmer, happier, and more mindful throughout my day. These 10 minute meditations are the perfect length and I really enjoy them.
Happy Scale is an app that tracks your weight. After about a week of logging your weight it will start to predict when you’ll reach certain goals, which is pretty fun. You enter in your current weight, your goal, and how quickly you would like to lose weight and it will instantly tell you when you will get to your goal weight based on that pace. Then as you start logging your weight it will begin to use your actual pace to recalculate. It even breaks your weight loss goal down into smaller, less intimidating goals to focus on along the way.
My Fitness Pal
My Fitness Pal is an oldie but a goodie. Even though you have probably already heard of it, I don’t feel a post like this would be complete without mentioning it. My fitness pal is a daily food tracker. You answer a few questions, such as current weight and activity level. and it tells you exactly how much you should be eating. You can also track your workouts and My Fitness Pal will tell you how many extra calories you should consume to balance it out, and still lose weight at your set pace. There are tons of tools on here, you can even see your macros for the day. If you haven’t checked out My Fitness Pal you definitely should, it’s a really easy and powerful tool for weight loss.
Yoga Wake Up
Ok guys, this one is seriously cool. Sometimes I am just astounded by the things we have access to at our fingertips these days. Yoga Wake Up delivers customizable, quick and easy yoga audio sequences you can do from bed for an easier transition to waking up.
Well there you have it, my 5 favorite health and wellness apps for the mind, body, and soul! What are some of your favorite health and wellness, or fitness apps? I would love to hear about some that I may have missed.
